U4GM Pokemon TCG Pocket Tips: Unlock More Packs

You'll run out of free pack openings faster than you expect, especially in the first few days. That's why it helps to treat every hourglass, shop ticket, and mission reward like part of a plan, not just something to spend the second it appears. Some players prefer starting fresh, while others look at Pokemon TCG Pocket Accounts when they want a different collection base, but either way, the same rule applies: open packs with a purpose and don't waste early rewards on random pulls.

Clear missions before spending heavily

Beginner Missions and Advanced Missions are the first places you should look for extra resources. They're not repeatable, sadly, but the rewards are too good to ignore. Knock them out early and you'll have a much smoother start. Solo mode is also worth your time. The Battle Guides teach the core match flow, and while the game only pushes you through the early lessons, you shouldn't stop there. Guides 8 to 12 are especially useful because they hand out practical rewards, including items and the Wigglytuff ex Rental Deck. It's not glamorous work, but it pays.

Use Solo battles for tickets and practice

Step-up Battles are another quiet source of value. Work through Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced battles, then move into Expert Solo Mode once your decks are better. The first-clear rewards include Pack Hourglasses, which means more booster openings without touching your saved currency. The extra battle tasks matter too. You might need to win without losing points, hit for 100 damage in one attack, or use a deck with a good or bad matchup. These objectives can be awkward, so don't be shy about using Rental Decks. Charizard ex, Pikachu ex, Mewtwo ex, Venusaur ex, Blastoise ex, Celebi ex, Palkia ex, Dialga ex, Darkrai ex, and similar rentals can carry you through jobs your own cards can't handle yet.

Spend shop tickets in the right order

Once you've built up shop tickets, go to the shop before you forget. Pack Hourglasses and Wonder Hourglasses are both worth buying, but the order matters. The refreshed monthly deals should usually come first because they disappear and come back on a timer. They cost more per hourglass than the one-time bundles, but missing them feels bad later. After that, start picking up the permanent one-time offers. They don't refresh, so there's no rush, yet their ticket value is better. Daily Missions are also easy money. Four Pack Hourglasses a day doesn't sound huge, but after a week that's a real pile of extra openings. Grab the daily shop gift too. It takes seconds.

Know when a pack stops being worth it

At some point, chasing the same pack gets ugly. If you've already pulled two copies of several key cards, each new opening has a higher chance of giving you duplicates instead of progress. Duplicates aren't useless, since they turn into shinedust and flair options, but most players would rather finish decks than decorate cards. A better move is to stop opening that pack for a while and use Wonder Pick to fill the gaps. Look for packs that show the set icon you need, and prioritise Pokémon ex when possible because they're usually the best value. Pack Points should be saved for hard-to-find cards or real deck emergencies, not every little missing piece.

Save resources when your decks are ready

Leveling up gives more Pack Hourglasses and Poké Gold, so regular play keeps feeding your collection even if you slow down. Six Poké Gold can become another booster, and every few levels the bonus feels a bit better. Still, you don't have to spend everything the moment you get it. If your main decks are built, let your Pack Hourglasses sit. Two free daily packs, or three with Premium Pass, are enough to keep your collection moving. Some players would rather buy Pokemon TCG Pocket Accounts for a head start, but careful saving and smart pack choices can stretch your resources a long way.
