This is why the build runs with exactly 473 maximum life—anything above that reduces your effective damage reduction and makes you less tanky.

Many players mistakenly add life through gear or charms, which breaks the build. Check every piece of gear, every charm, and your paragon board. The only unavoidable life nodes are the two in the starter board—everything else must be avoided.

Why 473 Life and 600+ Fury

Your Fury pool is your health bar. To survive sustained damage, you need enough Fury to absorb hits while maintaining enough regeneration to keep your Fury up. The sweet spot is:

473 maximum life - never go higher
600+ Fury - 710 is ideal for balanced setups
High Fury generation - aim for 150-190 with buffs active

If you have life anywhere on your gear, you will die. The build simply does not function without this low-life setup.

Stat Breakpoints You Need to Hit

Critical Strike Chance - 90%+ Effective

Your sheet critical strike chance should be around 75%. Flawless Technique adds 5%, and the Gar rune adds another 10%, giving you roughly 90% effective crit chance. While 100% is ideal, 75% on the sheet is a solid minimum breakpoint.

Critical Strike Damage - 15,000+ (with Grandfather)

With the Grandfather, aim for 15,000+ critical strike damage. I currently sit around 30,000, but even half of that is enough to clear all content. Without the Grandfather, 10,000 is a decent target.

Vulnerable Damage - 400+

Vulnerable damage multiplies your DPS significantly. Aim for at least 400%, with 600% being excellent. Use Exploit glyph and Accursed Touch to maintain permanent vulnerability uptime.

Cooldown Reduction - 60% for Perma Wrath

To keep Wrath of the Berserker active permanently, you need roughly 60% cooldown reduction. I currently have 69.6%, which is overkill but comfortable. Combine this with the Marshall glyph, and your shouts reset faster than you can use them.

Base fury generation should be around 48%, but with Wrath of the Berserker and Rallying Cry active, it jumps to 150-190. This means you generate roughly 200 Fury per second, which is enough to outpace the Melted Heart's damage consumption.

Best Gear Setup: The Heavenly Strength Variant

Recommended Setup for 99% of Content

For most players, the Heavenly Strength setup on your chest is the best overall choice. This aspect gives you 40% more toughness, which translates to 40% more effective Fury. While Rage of Harrogath is great for pushing high pits, it significantly reduces your survivability and is not recommended for Torment 12 farming or general bossing.

Heavenly Strength - recommended for 99% of content
Rage of Harrogath - only for Pit 145+ pushing
Freeze variant with Azarath - high damage but niche

Aspect Placement

Amulet: Always place Anger Management here for the highest damage boost.

Dust devils do not trigger weapon expertise bleeds. Only your actual Whirlwind hits apply bleeds. This means your twisters won't reset your cooldowns through Rage of Harrogath—you must spin directly through enemies to apply bleeds and trigger cooldown reductions.
