The push for sustainability in healthcare has spurred innovation in medical propellants, with biodegradable options emerging as a promising solution. Biodegradable propellants are gases that can be broken down by natural processes, reducing their long-term environmental impact. While still in early stages, these propellants aim to address concerns about HFAs’ GWP, offering a greener alternative without compromising drug delivery.

Traditional propellants like HFAs are synthetic and persist in the atmosphere, contributing to greenhouse gases.
