How to Maximize Your Empyrean Trace Gains in Aion 2

1. Use Interactive Maps for Route Planning

Empyrean Traces are scattered in hard-to-reach spots all over the world. There are 560 total traces in major regions like Verteron (for Elyos) or Altgard (for Asmodians). Many are hidden behind pillars, perched atop cliffs, or tucked into narrow crevices.

Pro Tip: Use a tool like the Aion 2 Interactive Map to pin trace locations. Planning your route ahead prevents backtracking and ensures you won’t miss any hard-to-see feathers. It’s a small time investment that saves hours in the long run.

2. Master Efficient Flight Techniques

Many traces are located high in the air or in isolated spots. Flying efficiently is key to gathering them quickly.

Gliding Boost:

  • Open your wings with V.
  • Hold W to move forward, then press Shift for a burst of speed.
  • When you start to slow down, close and reopen your wings to maintain momentum.

Using this technique lets you cover more ground without constantly touching down, especially when chaining multiple traces across high terrain.

3. Clear Cross-Faction Regions

Don’t limit yourself to your own faction’s territory. You can gather extra traces in opposing zones for more rewards.

Space-Time Rifts:

  • Elyos players can travel to Altgard, and Asmodians can visit Verteron.
  • Collecting traces on the enemy side gives additional Daevanion Points and sometimes rare upgrade scrolls, which are harder to get in your own region.

Expanding your route across factions maximizes both feathers collected and overall progression benefits.

4. Optimize the Exchange Process

Collecting traces is only half the battle—you need to exchange them at a Monolith. Monoliths are located in major hubs like Verteron, Altgard, or Azriel.

Wisdom Stone Rewards:

  • Each trace turned in gives you Wisdom Stones, which are used to gain Skill Points.
  • These points let you push Mastery Skills beyond the standard level 10 cap, giving permanent boosts to your character.

Amulet Progression:

5. Efficient Timing and Patch Awareness

Recent updates have made collecting traces faster. Now, a single loot action gives 4 feathers instead of 1, meaning you only need 140 locations to hit the 560-feather cap.

End-Game Exchange:

  • If you’ve already collected the 560 feathers, any extra feathers can still be traded for approximately 84,000 Enchantment Stones at the Monolith.
  • This is a great way to turn leftover feathers into useful resources for crafting or upgrading gear.

By combining planned routes, smart flight techniques, cross-faction exploration, and optimized exchanges, you can maximize your Empyrean Trace gains with minimal effort. Whether you’re pushing Mastery Skills or enhancing your Amulet, these strategies will save time and boost your overall power in Aion 2.
