Franchise Mode: Mastering the Trade Hub

The new Trade Hub adds depth with features like pending offers and the Fog of War, meaning trades now take several in-game days to finalize. Here’s how to get ahead:

Plan Ahead for Deadlines

Trades are no longer instant. Start negotiations at least 1–2 in-game weeks before the July 31st deadline. If you wait too long, a rival team could swoop in and steal your target while your offer is still pending.

Use All 4 Trade Slots

You can now have four active trade offers at once. Send different packages to multiple teams for the same positional need and grab whichever deal closes first.

Target Market Archetypes

  • Contenders (Buyers): Focus on veterans who provide immediate impact.
  • Rebuilders (Sellers): Offload older stars for young, controllable talent. Keep an eye on the Rumor Board to spot these opportunities early.
  • Small-Market Teams: These squads often want to shed salary. High-rated players can be had for fewer prospects if you’re willing to absorb large contracts.

Protect Your Core

Mark your franchise stars as “Untouchable”. This prevents the AI from offering them in trades or sending lowball requests.

Prioritize Versatility

Players with secondary positions are more valuable in trades. Multi-positional utility infielders or outfielders offer roster flexibility and higher trade value.

Top Trade Targets (Franchise)

  • Harry Ford (C, Nationals): High-potential catcher, relatively easy to acquire.
  • Coby Mayo (1B/3B, Orioles): Power prospect; cheapest if acquired before a major league promotion.
  • Zach Neto (SS, Angels): MVP-caliber shortstop, often available on a ~$4M one-year deal.
  • James Wood (OF, Nationals): All-Star talent, requires a big prospect package but worth it long-term.

Diamond Dynasty: Marketplace Strategy

The Marketplace is a living economy. Prices fluctuate based on real-world performance and player scarcity. Here’s how to make smart trades:

The “Gatekeeper” Strategy

Snag 90+ OVR Diamonds (like Ohtani or Judge) early. Their value climbs as the season progresses and more players compete for them.

The “No-Risk” Investment

Buy cards priced near Quick Sell value. If the market dips, you can quick-sell to recover stubs, effectively minimizing losses.

Flip Gold Cards

Gold cards (80–84 OVR) move fast. Use One-Stub Undercutting—list just one stub below the current lowest price—to maintain turnover and build stub profit.

Roster Updates

Track Live Series cards. Players performing well in real life get attribute boosts every two weeks, increasing both their Quick Sell floor and market value.

Trading in MLB The Show 26 rewards patience, research, and timing. By mastering the Trade Hub in Franchise mode and leveraging smart buying/selling in Diamond Dynasty, you can build a roster that dominates both the virtual diamond and your competition.
