MMO Games (Massively Multiplayer Online games) allow players to interact with thousands of others in an online virtual reality environment, generally playing them on computers and consoles.
One of my favorite MMOs is Guild Wars 2, with its immersive world and distinctive ink and paint design philosophy. Another favorite scifi game I enjoy is Wildstar.
Character Creation
MMO games provide players with an important feature - the ability to create an avatar - allowing them to personalize their character in numerous ways, from selecting gender and race, through hairstyles, eyebrow shapes and tattoos, all the way down to how the player looks with special effects such as blurring.
MMO games can be found across a range of network-capable devices, from personal computers and video game consoles, to smartphones and tablet PCs. They typically feature a persistent world that exists even when players are offline; supporting thousands of simultaneous users; offering action, role-playing and socialization genres of gameplay as well as multiple types of gameplay types from action to role-playing and socialization.
MMORPGs began as text-based multi-player dungeons played out on university mainframe computers during the 1970s and 80s. By the 1990s graphical MMOs had begun emerging.
Leveling
Leveling processes are at the core of every game; if they become cumbersome and tedious, rewards at its conclusion will become less meaningful.
Some games encourage their players to grind levels by including floating question marks over NPC heads and To-Do lists with quests on the minimap, along with golden/sparkly tracers that guide players through zones. This is an ineffective approach to designing gameplay.
Game design should lead players down an exciting, exploratory path that promotes adventure. While levels should still serve as measures of progress, they shouldn't be the end goal. One way of accomplishing this could be spreading out quests further apart to make them harder to uncover or factoring faction into how quickly players pick them up.
Skills
Many MMORPGs provide players with various skills they can develop over time and level up. Some passive abilities allow players to progress even when not actively engaged with the game; for instance, Woodcutting and Mining skills allow you to collect materials needed to craft equipment like bows or pickaxes.
No matter the skill, active or passive, players can use them to tailor their play style and achieve specific goals within the game. This can be particularly rewarding for those who prefer not to fight monsters but still wish to advance within it.
Example: A player might choose to prioritize Generality over PvP in an MMORPG, which won't help them win PvP battles but may ensure that their group remains together and happy - an essential aspect in terms of large-scale content creation and social interactions.
Items
MMO games create massive virtual worlds that require large servers to host copies of the game universe so many players can experience it simultaneously. They also create a virtual economy in which real money can be exchanged for virtual items and services.
MMO Items features a powerful item generator system that makes creating items of all types, tiers and stats with ease using one template. Utilizing powerful formulas, MMO Items' generator allows users to define an extensive set of modifiers which can be applied directly onto items in order to generate specific numeric stats like attack damage or move speed.
MMO Items features various item types with specific on-hit attack effects and allows users to register their own types to be used as weapons, armors, consumables or accessories.
PvP
PvP stands for player-versus-player interaction and is commonly featured in MMORPGs and other multiplayer video games. This style of gameplay differs significantly from PvE (player versus environment), where players primarily battle computer-controlled enemies instead of competing against other players. Many of the best free online games include both PvP and PvE modes, giving players the flexibility to enjoy competitive matches, cooperative missions, and immersive adventures without paying an upfront cost.

Some MMOs feature dedicated PvP modes, like Guild Wars 2's WvW and Push. Such features make PvP an integral component of the gaming experience and any changes made to balance or remove these interactions can spark significant player outrage.
